Jeff Moriarty Obituary, Death: The Haverhill community is deeply mourning the loss of Jeffrey M. Moriarty, who passed away at the age of 61 on March 2, 2025, at Holy Family Hospital in Haverhill. Born on November 22, 1963, to Frederick and Patricia (Kohlweiss) Moriarty, Jeffrey was the second of four boys in the Moriarty family and was raised in the Bradford section of the city. A man of great character, Jeffrey lived a life full of service, adventure, and love for his family and community.

Growing up in the rural area of Bradford, Jeffrey developed a love for the outdoors, becoming an avid skier and motorcycle trailer rider. His adventurous spirit was matched by his strong work ethic and dedication to his country. After graduating from Haverhill High School in 1981, Jeffrey briefly took a break before joining the United States Air Force, where he served as a jet mechanic. His service took him to Pease Air Force Base in New Hampshire, Korea, and Florida. While stationed in Korea, Jeffrey earned an incentive flight for his quick thinking and resourcefulness when he discovered a critical issue with the aircraft’s landing gear just before takeoff an act that ultimately prevented a serious accident.

Following his military service, Jeffrey returned home and built a diverse career. He worked as a bartender and also served with the Haverhill Sheriff’s Department. However, it was his 20-year tenure with the Haverhill Fire Department that cemented his place as a valued member of the community. Most recently, Jeffrey worked as a fuel truck driver for Irving Oil, a job that further showcased his reliability and commitment to those around him.

Jeffrey’s personal life was filled with love and devotion to his family. He married his first wife, Ann (Capeles) Moriarty, with whom he had two children, Chelsea and Michael. Later in life, he married Joyce (MacLean) Moriarty, welcoming her two daughters into the family. Jeffrey was a loving husband, father, and grandfather who cherished the time spent with his loved ones. He never hesitated to put family first, always eager to make everyone happy. His selflessness and kindness were central to the way he lived, and his legacy of love and generosity will be felt for years to come.

Jeffrey is predeceased by his father, Frederick M. Moriarty, and his brother, Kevin P. Moriarty. He is survived by his mother, Patricia A. Moriarty, his wife Joyce, his children Chelsea and Michael, his stepdaughters Stephanie and Jessica, and his many beloved grandchildren: Andrew, Alivia, Julian, Joshy, Jackson, Jacob, Natalie, and Rocco. He also leaves behind his two brothers, Chief Brian Moriarty and his wife Kimberley, and Dennis Moriarty and his wife Nikki, along with a large extended family of friends and loved ones who will miss him dearly.
